"...Today’s consumer, citizen, and user has high expectations and little time. People expect seamless experiences, start to finish, including the digital and non-digital bits..."
I admit it that I am just a little obsessed by Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) and its infinite possibilities at the moment. I've always been a big fan of Adobe, but with the launch of so many great apps, it does make our job as designers really just more and more exciting especially in this time of the digital explosion.

"I admit it: you intimidate me. Your work is vivid and imaginative, far superior to my woeful scratchings at a similar age. The things I struggle to learn barely make you sweat. One day, you’ll be a better designer than me..."
by CENNYDD BOWLES on UX & DESIGN Letter to a Junior Designer April 17, 2014 · http://alistapart.com/column/letter-to-a-junior-designer ....well done Karmarama. Watch and enjoy the new Cobra "live smooth" ad - genius! http://m.campaignlive.co.uk/article/1283237/cobra-live-smooth-karmarama Yay! I remembered my password. It's been a while since my last post as moving countries has kept me busy. Settled now, I'm discovering and enjoying this new and exciting journey and embracing change. Much like today's reveal of the redesign of The Independent. Nice. My dear old American Uni tutor actually taught me never to describe design work as "nice". I distinctly remember him saying that the digestive biscuit you had with your tea this morning was "nice". The person on the bus that gave up their seat for the old lady was "nice". Non-descriptive, quite pleasant, just okay. True. But said in a different tone of voice, this new masthead re-design really is "NICE"! Stylishly bold, clean and attractive. I really like it. Awesome design The Independent. Let CR Blog tell you more. OK, so this one is a few weeks old now but I just can't stop watching it – the new Evian ad. It features people dancing with baby versions of themselves in a shop window mirror. Fun idea and just makes me chuckle! I must have been underneath a rock somewhere in 2009 as I totally missed the Evian Roller Babies, equally genius and brings a warm and cheeky smile to your face.
I discovered this great animation a few months ago and was reminded of it this evening (by Ben Colman, CEO, 18 Feet and Rising). Speaking at a B&T creative event, Ben was asked if there's any campaign of recent he wished he had worked on, and this was his immediate answer....and I agree! Infectious soundtrack that you can't get out of your head and very cute animation. Just love the dancing kidney!
An Architect friend of mine recently put this lovely and informative video on her facebook page. Great animation and a cool little soundtrack too. Enjoy!
Apple's changing faces AppleMac has been a designers third arm for many years and whilst I was recently researching into one of my favourite brands, I stumbled across this great piece of history: How Apple's Website Has Changed Through The Years "It's a site many of you have been looking at for years, so it's fun to see the evolution of the site and the history of Apple through the years." by Julie Bort. I've had quite a few of Apples products ever since I knew I wanted to be a designer, so looking at its evolution over a few decades has sure bought back some great memories! |
